and Paper Stock
Approval A sample of paper stock and a full-size photostat showing all elements, plus trim and folds, must be submitted to TV Guide's Manufacturing department in Radnor, PA for a final check of mechanical details. This is to be done 70 days in advance of issue date and prior to releasing the film to the printer. All inserts must have a printed backbone bar and contain the words "bind edge" in the grind-off area. Inserts printed for a single issue must have issue date in the grind-off area. Inserts printed for a range of issue dates must have the range of dates printed in the grind-off area as well. Gluing Inserts containing glue, remoistenable gum or any type of adhesive are restricted to a total glued area not larger than 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" on any page. Glue, gum surface or rub-off may be placed on pages 2 and 3 (the folded-in pages) of a 4-page insert or the folded-in pages of any gatefold insert. Glue, gum surface or rub-off areas should never touch each other on facing pages. Pages 1 and 4, or outside pages, are to contain no glue or rub-off material. TV Guide and/or any of the binders will not be responsible for inserts that arrive stuck together due to the glue. If time permits, agencies/advertisers will be apprised of condition of inserts and will make a decision as to the disposition of these "stuck" inserts. Full-Page Tear-Outs Consult TV Guide's Manufacturing department for specific instructions.
